Bancha in Japan takes many regional forms tied to local climate and culture. This one is almost "the tea tree itself" in a cup: rare native bushes over 30 years old, winter-cut with stems, wood-fired in an iron pan, rested for over six months, then finished with a final roast. Expect deep woody aroma, toasty sweetness, and a faint charred-tree note reminiscent of whisky without alcohol. It is low in caffeine, gently warming, and very versatile: enjoy it straight, with ginger, chilled, or lightly sweetened.
