Oyako Hojicha is made by harvesting and roasting both the older "parent" leaves and the delayed or leftover young "child" shoots from the same tea bush. This lot comes from a master Sencha grower in top-grade Asamiya, Shiga, and uses first-flush material grown at high elevation. Deep roasting over high heat creates a unique profile where the freshness of young shoots and the depth of mature leaves coexist, giving a rich, savory "double-broth" style aroma found only in this tea.
